Fitzroy Square was laid out and developed in the 1790’s and early 1800’s.

These houses must have seen thousands of horse drawn coaches delivering guests to their doors since those times.

And then the horses disappeared. London’s primary engines of travel were wiped off the streets of the city as the internal combustion engine replaced horses with horse power.

It was lovely having the horses back if only for a day or two as extras in yet another film being made in Fitzroy Square. The sounds of their hooves stepping on the hard road surface, their patient swishing and sudden snorting were welcome reminders of what was once the norm.
