There was another lovely memorial to the fallen servicemen and women within King’s Cross Station again this year.
It’s just inside the ticket barriers of platforms 0 to 8 and is a series of illuminated posts containing the names of those railway people to die in service of their country.
Understated, simple, with a number of poppy wreaths laid by contemporary railway workers beneath it, the memorial was quietly affecting. A small moment of memory and thanks in a busy day. King’s Cross are very good at this.
